  2. Saxophone Day is celebrated on November 6th of each year in remembrance of Adophe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone. Sax was born on November 6, 1814 in Dinant in Wallonia, Belgium.

Though Sax invented many instuments, the saxophone is what he is most well known for. The saxophone was patented in 1846 when Sax had designed an exhibited a full range of saxophones (from soprano to bass). These instruments made his reputation and secured him a job teaching at the Paris Conservatoire.

Saxophone Day is a day to remember Sax and his invention. If you play the saxophone, make sure you play on November 6th in remembrance of Adophe Sax.
