World Kindness Day
TheWorld Kindness Day is on November 13, 2012. It is a day that encourages
individuals to overlook boundaries, race and religion. According to modern
psychology, altruistic acts increase our own happiness in a profound way.
The World Kindness Day was
introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many
countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab
Emirates.
Birthdays
John Dickinson (November
1732 – February 14, 1808), an American lawyer and politician. He was a militia
officer during the American Revolution, a Continental Congressman from
Pennsylvania and Delaware, a delegate to the U.S. Constitutional Convention of
1787, President of Delaware and President of Pennsylvania. Among the wealthiest
men in the British American colonies, he is known as the "Penman of the
Revolution" for his Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania. He is
the namesake of Dickinson College and Penn State University's Dickinson School
of Law
Garry Kent Marshall (born November 13, 1934) is an American actor, director, writer, and
producer. His notable credits include creating Happy Days and The Odd
Couple and directing Nothing In Common, Pretty Woman, Runaway

Jean Dorothy Seberg[1] (November 13, 1938 – August 30, 1979) was an American actress. She starred in 37 films in Hollywood and in France, including Bonjour Tristesse (1958), Breathless (1960), the musical Paint Your Wagon (1969) and the disaster film Airport (1970).
ReplyDeleteJean Seberg is also one of the best-known victims of the FBI COINTELPRO project. Her victimization was rendered as a well-documented retaliation for her support of civil rights and activist groups in the 1960s.
The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; and realise we are citizens of the world. As world citizens we have a commonality, and must realise that if progress is to be made in human relations and endeavours, if we are to achieve the goal of peaceful coexistence, we must focus on what we have in common. When we find likenesses we begin to experience empathy, and in such a state we can fully relate to that person or those people. While we may think of people from other cultures as being ‘different’ when we compare them with our own customs and beliefs, it doesn’t mean that we are any better than they are. When we become friends with someone from a different culture we discover that despite some obvious differences, there are many similarities.

Goldberg made her film debut in The Color Purple (1985), playing Celie, a mistreated black woman in the Deep South. She received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress and won her first Golden Globe Award for her role in the film. In 1990, she starred as Oda Mae Brown, a psychic helping a slain man (Patrick Swayze) find his killer in the blockbuster film Ghost. This performance won her a second Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Metta World Peace (born Ronald William Artest, Jr., November 13, 1979) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was known as Ron Artest before legally changing his name in September 2011.World Peace gained a reputation as one of the league's premier defenders as he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2004. He was a participant in several controversial on-court incidents, most notably the Pacers–Pistons brawl and is known for his sometimes eccentric and outspoken behavior.
Adrienne Monique Coleman (born November 13, 1980) is an American actress, dancer,singer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist best known for her co-starring role in Disney's 'High School Musical' movies, in which she plays Taylor McKessie. Coleman also had a recurring role on 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody', as a school girl named Mary–Margaret. She also competed in the third edition of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, finishing in fourth place. Most recent, Coleman was named the first ever UN Youth Champion for the International Year of Youth and is currently on a world tour to raise awareness of challenges facing youth. Coleman launched her online talk show Gimme Mo', a show dedicated to empowering today's youth on September 8, 2010.
