Chord Paul Overstreet (born February 17, 1989) is an American actor, singer and musician, best known for his role as Sam Evans on the television series Glee.
Overstreet began to pursue his passion of performing after his high school graduation in 2007. After two unsuccessful years, Overstreet started his acting career on the web seriesPrivate, as Josh Hollis.He was also featured in an episode of iCarly iSpeed Date (for a few minutes) and the unaired pilot of No Ordinary Family. His first film role was that of Teenage Boy in the 2009 thriller The Hole, and he starred in the 2011 film A Warrior's Heartas Dupree, alongside Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.
Overstreet plays the character of Sam Evans, a transfer student and athlete, on the television showGlee. He landed the role after auditioning with Commodores' "Easy" and Gavin DeGraw's "I Don't Want to Be". He later sang "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars as a studio test, and eventually sang this in the season premiere "Audition", along with "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" byPoison. He played the role of Rocky in the The Rocky Horror Picture Show-themed episode "The Rocky Horror Glee Show".
On April 21, 2011, the video for Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight" was released on YouTube and featured a series of cameos of Overstreet alternately making out with a girl (whom he stole from the lead singer) on an office copier, DJing at a club, then playing guitar and mugging for the crowd with his brother, bandmember Nash.
On July 1, 2011, TVLine's Michael Ausiello broke the news that Overstreet's contract option to become a series regular on Glee had not been picked up for season 3, but that he could possibly come back as an occasional guest star. In reaction to the announcement, fans launched a campaign to promote Overstreet's cover of "Billionaire" and various tags related to the actor, most notably "#dontcutthechord", began trending on Twitter. The song made its way into the iTunes Top 5 "Glee" charts during the campaign.
At the 2011 Comic-Con event, Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk reported that they had offered Overstreet a ten-episode deal with a possibility to become a series regular at mid-season, but that Overstreet had declined the option. Overstreet later stated to Ausiello during an interview that he had decided to leave the show to focus on his music career, explaining, "They offered me the chance to come back for a few episodes, but there was nothing guaranteed so I decided to dive into the music thing."
It was reported on October 18, 2011, and confirmed by series co-creator Ryan Murphy six days later, that Overstreet would be returning to Glee as a recurring character starting with the season's eighth episode. That episode, "Hold On to Sixteen", which featured Overstreet's character Sam, aired on December 6, 2011. On July 23, it was confirmed that Overstreet will be a series regular for thefourth season of Glee.

Kathryn Grayson (February 9, 1922 – February 17, 2010) was an American actress and operatic soprano singer.

ReplyDeleteBillie Joe Armstrong (born February 17, 1972) is an American rock musician and occasional actor, best known as the lead vocalist, main songwriter, and guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day, which he co-founded with Mike Dirnt. He is also a guitarist and vocalist for the punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder and provides lead vocals for Green Day's side projects Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network respectively.
ReplyDeleteRaised in Rodeo, California, Armstrong developed an interest in music at a young age, and recorded his first song at the age of five. He met Mike Dirnt while attending elementary school, and the two instantly bonded over their mutual interest in music, forming the band Sweet Children when the two were 15 years old. The band changed its name to Green Day, and would later achieve massive commercial success. Armstrong has also pursued musical projects outside of Green Day's work, including numerous collaborations with other musicians.
He also co-owns the record label Adeline Records, with his wife Adrienne and skateboarder Jim Thiebaud, with the colaboration of Green Day's guitarist Jason White and more recently Green Day's manager Pat Magnarella.
Kathleen Freeman (February 17, 1919 – August 23, 2001) was an American film, television, and stage actress. In a career that spanned more than fifty years, she portrayed tart maids, secretaries, teachers, busybodies, nurses, and battle-axe neighbors, almost invariably to comic effect.
ReplyDeleteFreeman's most notable early role was an uncredited part in the 1952 musical Singin' in the Rain, as Jean Hagen's articulate diction coach Phoebe Dinsmore. In 1954, Freeman played receptionist Miss Seely for lawyer Adam Calhorn Shaw (Edmund Purdom) in Athena. Beginning with the 1955 film Artists and Models, Freeman became a favorite foil of Jerry Lewis, playing opposite him in 11 films.[1] These included most of Lewis's better known comedies, including The Disorderly Orderly as Nurse Higgins, The Errand Boy as the studio boss's wife, and especially The Nutty Professor as Millie Lemon. Over 30 years later, she made a small cameo appearance in Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, a sequel to the remake of the Lewis film.

ReplyDeleteBill ended up in Vancouver, British Columbia in the 1980s where he fronted The Blue Shadows, who were known for their Everly Brothers-like harmonies. In 1990 Bill produced the second album for rockabilly act, The Rattled Roosters. In 1993, The Blue Shadows landed a deal with Sony and released its debut album, “On the Floor of Heaven” receiving great reviews and found themselves on the forefront of a Canadian Alt.country movement. In 1995, the Blue Shadows recorded its second and last album, “Lucky to Me”. During this time, a drug addiction that began in the 70s became worse, until Bill was rescued by members of Calgary's music scene, including Jann Arden.
